Twice Shaded is the debut solo album by pianist and producer Rick Simpson.

Simpson's first electronic release sees the improvising musician turn his attention to creating music at home with an array of synthesisers and keyboard instruments. All the pieces (except Too Bright) are improvisations, lovingly stitched together and made into something bigger.

This album features Michael Chillingworth on alto saxophone and Dave Smith on drums on 'Dlither'. 'Plastic Sky' features a sample of George Crowley on clarinet.

Many thanks to Alex Bonney for his amazing work mixing, producing and mastering this record and to Mike, Dave and George for their wonderful contribution.
